It occurred to me…

as I was buying yet another book labeled “Coming Soon as a Major Motion Picture!”

Have you ever heard of a minor motion picture?

    That is a good question!

I actually wonder if putting these ‘Coming soon as a Major Picture’ labels on books make them sell more or less!

I know alot of people who would not buy the book because they can just wait for the movie. Then I know others who would buy it because they want to read it before the movie comes out.

I know if the book wasn’t by one of my favourite authors then I would just go see the film 😉

Sometimes I find it a bit annoying that ‘they’ have to turn every good book into a film. It seems to me that often the book is better…

  3. Amber,

I totally agree. And the pre-movie covers are always so much better, aren’t they?

  4. Ilana,

The book is almost always better; as are the pre-movie covers, it seems. It’s a shame we’re in such a visual age…

  5. I’d love to see someone have “minor motion picture” just to find out what reviewers would think! Might make a good ego derailing for a lot of people.

Books and the pictures based off them are problematic. If the book pre-dates the movie, it tends to be better. When it’s the other way around, I’m not sure what happens.
