Hot Mulled Apple-Orange Cider


1 cup water
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar
4 whole allspice
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
4 cups apple cider
2 cinnamon sticks
2 cups orange juice


Bring water and sugar to a boil in saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly, and boil for three minutes. Add cinnamon, allspice, and ginger; reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes.

Pour mixture through wire-mesh strainer into a Dutch oven, discarding spices. Add apple cider and juice; bring to a boil. Serve hot.
