One more thing.
I just learned that my children, having been denied the luxury of a lemonade stand, have discovered a new outlet for their money-making instincts.
They’re selling doodlebugs door-to-door.
For a nickel apiece.
So far, evidently, they’ve made 35 cents.
We have very nice neighbors.
Your children are too cute! I’m not sure what Doodlebugs are (just the TV show, which you probably don’t know anything about if you don’t watch TV)…but in any case $.05 each? That’s a bargain no matter what…
Doodlebugs (which sound very much like the very musical and bouncy Doodlebops — we had a DVD of them for a week from the library) are also known as pill bugs or rolypolies. (Rolypolys? That looks wrong. Must be rolypolies, which also looks strange.)
So I’m not so sure about the bargain thing… 🙂
And thanks — I may be biased, but I think my kiddos are pretty cute, too — not to mention an endless source of material.
If you’re interested in a doodlebug of your own, let me know. I’ll bet I can cut you a deal. 😉
I would totally buy a doodlebug from the kids next door if they came over with them.

Your kids should try selling lemonade door to door. THat’s what Anthony down our street did with iced tea. He went to every neighbor and sold a dixie cup of iced tea for 25 cents. Of course since he was rushing back and forth by the time the drink came, the cup was barely full. LOL. Oh well.
Glad to hear that the mole wasn’t cancer. That must have been an awful experience.
I’ve been writing but this week has been crazy. On Wednesday I hosted a shopping party at a local clothing store in town for my co-workers & friends. And I just got back from a machine quilting class.
After I make dinner I’m going to write.

You’re right. I was thinking of Doodlebops…not Doodlebugs. But I believe you when you say your children are an endless source of material.
Also, I thought the same thing as you when I read Debra’s note –that she quilts…That’s what I would love to learn. If she’s from Austin, maybe she can tell me where they give quilting classes… Of course, I’m procrastinating… I should be writing but I’m lucky if I get to it once a week. I’m very bad. Well, let’s just say I tend to get very busy… That sounds better.

I think there’s a quilting place on Anderson (near the Alamo Draft House); I’ll bet they give classes. I took a sewing class in the vicinity once (didn’t work out too well). I have a dear friend here who quilts; I’ll ask her where they have classes.
And busy is good. But just don’t forget to shoehorn a few words in here or there (while sending hubby out for the good corned beef)… before you know it, you’ll have a book!
